we took the fiat back into the mountains today. We stopped in Fabrezan for a barely adequate croissant and a great coffee. Then back on the road to chateau peyrepertuse, a fortress ruin perched on the top of a precarious mountain top. Beautiful views, hot steep climb on well worn rocks.
The bike ride from Trèbes to Lézignan-Corbieres wasn't that far but the trail or path is terrible. Many of the plain trees are sick with a fungus brought over by us troops in ww2, they are dying and have been removed.

We are back in Bordeaux after making a three trip to the Atlantic coast with Jackson. A mostly scenic route on a well paced and marked path (piste cyclab Bordeaux/Lacaneu L'ocean. A decent length in hot weather with loaded bags.
It is raining again today, but we had sunshine yesterday, which was a welcome relief. I took the afternoon off from work and ran some errands and then... Connie and I spent a few hours cleaning my gutters and downspouts and the patio roof. THANK YOU, CONNIE, for all your help yesterday.
Connie and I went to see the Indigo Girls last night at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Olympia. The concert was opened by Lucy Wainwright Roche. She was wonderful and adorable. She is the half sister of Rufus and Martha Wainwright.
