Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching. I am Working 5am-Noon Thanksgiving on a trade to get me home sooner Christmas Day. Thanksgiving day I should be home by 2pm...perfect time for dinner. Lol Has anyone made plans yet?
Last weekend I made a trip to eastern Washington to visit my friends Jessie & Nolan in Colville and Ruth & her family (Denis, Josie, and Felix) in Spokane.
Cousin Jody and I went up to Gooseberry Point on the Lummi Reservation last weekend to hang out with Thess and Doug for Thess's birthday. We slept at their neighbor's place, since their trailer is a little small for four people to sleep in.
Well, summer is over and autumn is settling in. We had a fair bit of rain and gusts of wind yesterday. Connie and I managed to take a walk downtown while the sky was clear(ish) and stopped at the library, Danger Room Comics, and Batdorf & Bronson for coffee.
We've been working on putting a fence around most of the yard. Partially because I wanted to not be sitting in a fishbowl since the yard is on the corner of a neighborhood street and a busy street. I was also tired of watching cars go by. The busy side also has a bus stop.
We left Beauvoir at a reasonable time (read that as I can't remember but it was morning). We started on roads and continued on them following the neon green signs. Someone before us, probably leading a group, had been painting directions on the road with bright green paint.
We broke camp at Benoît des Ondes in a slight drizzle and switched between roads and trails until we found the official Velo verre path which began winding through farmland. We went trough produce fields of onions leeks potatoes beets parsley lettuce, I got hungry:)
we rode the sea wall as far as we could. Then it was back to looking for the Velo paths. Some of the bicycle paths share the road with cars and we tried to take small town side streets. The coast is lined with farm fields of corn and wheat and the hydrangeas and butterfly bushes are in bloom.
June 28 we arrive at st malo. a walled city with an amazing sea wall for miles, built with stone. In the outlying neighborhoods all of the street ends come out to meet it and you can walk or bicycle quite a ways.
