Tuesday January 31st @9pm....
Today I worked from 10-2 so my boss Julia could have a meeting with our DM (district manager) Jerry. It ended up being a very interesting day!.....
Yesterday when confirming appointments I had one guest that refused to allow me to even try to photograph her 2yr old....she said she would only allow Julia the studio manager...I explained that Julia would be in a meeting at that time and that I was completely capable of successfully photographing her little girl. :) Mom said NOPE No offense please but my kid is a monster 2yr old & Julia is only one I trust! I said No problem and re-booked her for 10am our very first appointment of the day.
So today....
Mom of terrible 2yr old girl shows up late! My 10:40 had already checked in!!! She distracts the 2yr old I am photographing cuz she's "curious, just observing how (I) handle my photo shoot"...yea this IS odd! So I finish my sitting and Julia said that now THAT mom is willing to try me too....hmm...that might not be such a good thing!!! LOL. Ofcourse...terrible twos can't last forever!!! Right? :-P
So Julia & I both photographed 2yr olds, both sold aprox$70 of photos to both, I did a passport photo, then we didn't have anything to do really untill 2...it wasn't even noon!
Our DM Jerry showed up for the meeting, spoke A LOT to me about new pricing system. Last time I saw her was at the end of the Christmas rush when she informed us that I had the highest sales average in the district. I told her that I did not get on conference call Monday/yesterday about new pricing because I thought it was very self explainatory & I didn't want to waste company money by joining the call when I knew I could ask her today the 2queations I had. She told Julia my boss that I impressed her cuz of that!
We spoke of how we can no longer hand out coupons & Julia told her that b4 we destroyed the coupons I had walked around the store giving them out and had brought in 2new customers! So DM Jerry then challenged me to walk around store without coupons to see if I was able to get a new appointment booked for this week...oh yea...I did!!! Whoop WHOOOP ;) :) I found a young mom with a 2yr old & booked her for Friday! Got a high-five from both bosses!
Also a woman came in wanting prices on some shots for business. Julia was handling it, explaining new prices & when the prints come back in. The woman stated she needed them immediately & couldn't wait a week...started walking out. Julia said "have a nice day"...then I chimed in telling her that we do offer a special same day business cd that although it may be beyond her budget it may be exactly what she needs...I explained the pricing and how she would need this due to copyright laws...she booked appointment for Thursday! Julia said she was amazed that I took initiative, knew the new pricing and was able to close that deal ;) then I was impressed when she told DM Jerry!!!!
DM Jerry told me that she better hear me on conference call tonight! I joined in. Someone asked how to handle a customer that normally gets the $7.99package but now cannot...I explained how I would & have handled this cuz no one chimed in...Jerry praised me for my response...and told everyone how I was able to bring customers in to make appointments without handing them a coupon!
All in All... I would have to say that I had w great day!!
