This year will be a first for us, we will both be home for the Christmas Holiday; I will be here in Olympia and Becky will be in Minnesota!
Her uncle Tom, who lives in Kansas City, MO is determined to drive to Minnesota to see Becky's grandma who has not been doing so well. Tom has MS and really shouldn't be driving that distance by himself. Becky has been wanting to go see her uncle Tom and her grandma, so she has decided to drive uncle Tom to Minnesota herself.
She is going to drive, yes drive, from Olympia to Kansas City, MO and pick him up, then drive him to Minnesota for Christmas, then back to Kansas City after. Plane tickets are outrageously expensive and she really wants to be out on the open road, so she is roadtripping it! She will be leaving this coming Tuesday, December 20th and coming back, hopefully, December 30th. Yikes!
This will be our first Christmas apart and 10 days is a long time, I will probably have a bit of a blue Christmas. I am excited to spend Christmas with all of you and have fun and games, but I will definitely be missing her!
I have already warned her that she may come back to a house full of all new things because I may use some retail therapy to make me feel better. Also, the dogs will have extra on the bed and sleeping in our room privileges while she is away!
