The holiday season has just about arrived. For us, in Olympia, that means lots of rain, leaves clogging gutters & drains, and wind. The days seem so short. It's dark when I walk to work and it's dark when I walk home. I sometimes leave the front porch light on, so it seems more inviting when I get home. I don't always remember and sometimes I intentionally leave it off. It feels strange to leave it on during the daylight hours; like I'm wasting a miniscule amount of energy or wasting a light bulb. I'll have to replace it sooner and then buy a new one, which really is such a minor thing.
I had a decent week at work. It was hectic on Monday and Tuesday, because everyone was scrambling to finish stuff up before the weekend, lots of people were off on Wednesday (today). Those of us that were left decided to have a "pizza party" for lunch time, so I stayed a little late to enjoy that. The few of us that were left sat together and visited, shared stories, talked about shopping (or not) on Black Friday, and just enjoyed each other's company. It is a rare thing for us to do. We all had a good time. The holidays seem to bring out the happiness in everyone.
I'm looking forward to the family gathering tomorrow, cooking together, eating & drinking together (I assume there will be wine), visiting and maybe convincing C&J to join us in a casual game of Munchkin (original, Bites, Fu, Star, or Cthulhu).
I got a nice Thanksgiving card from Louise (my good friend in Colville), her mom Roberta and her son James. They are great people.
I'm going to haul my bins of Christmas decorations out this weekend and put some things up around the house. I might try to do that on Friday.
Fern & Berry (Thess) is going to be at a holiday bazaar on Saturday at Lincoln Elementary. I plan on helping out there. I really enjoy the markets and hanging out with Thess, hawking her wares. She has a new Pomegranate Rose face cleanser that I'm planning on purchasing and testing out. It sounds amazing.
Love you all... see you tomorrow!
