Saint Malo to Mont Saint Michele with stops

we rode the sea wall as far as we could. Then it was back to looking for the Velo paths. Some of the bicycle paths share the road with cars and we tried to take small town side streets. The coast is lined with farm fields of corn and wheat and the hydrangeas and butterfly bushes are in bloom. I saw a small patch of strawberries in a back yard and the berries were stil green.

so the farm roads are pretty hilly and windy so we took our time. Depending we would have the wind at our backs and we sailed along great. We made a side trip to some carvings in the rocky sea coast. Called Les Roches Sculptés. (Pausing here to save)

we then wended our way up and down and around, a little confused by the route at times but not too hot as it was a very windy day. We had lunch at a cafe/brasserie at the edge of the Pointe de Grouin. Could blow you right off. I took a picture with the camera of some tiny black goats or sheep trimming te grass.

then we kept on pedaling beyond Cancale and fpund a great beach side camping in Saint Benoît des Ondes. A small beach town that had the main road put through it. Although traffic was there the ocean drowned it out. A very clean and healthy beach with a large variety of shells. This area specializes in mussels and oyster and fruits de mer.

the beach here was light coatin of sand over a fine very sticky grey mud that was silky smooth. I wanted to bring some back. The wind was not too bad as the camp spot was a depression in the ground about the size of Connie's lot.

we debated staying one more night but opted for having an extra day at Mint Saint Michele an left in the morning.
