Exciting new things...

About a month ago, my washer gave me some troubles and flooded the laundry area. It was an early Wednesday morning, I had traveled to Spokane the previous weekend for the memorial service/celebration of life thing for my friend Suzanne (Ryan had rented out the Garland Theater in Spokane for a few hours and we watched "Back to the Future" on the "big screen"). I had arrived home Monday night and was headed back over Friday morning for a baby shower for another friend. I decided to do a load of laundry while having my coffee and getting ready for work. I started it and went to the front of the house to finish my usual email checking, online banking, etc... After about 30 minutes, I figured it was time to transfer the laundry from the washer to the dryer, so I went to the laundry area (in the back of the house) and discovered that the "I'm full of water" sensor had malfunctioned, so the washer was just filling and filling and spilling out all over the floor (and had been for some time). I won't go into details about the mess, which I did get cleaned up (unearthed the shop vac from the garage, used lots of towels, etc...).

Needless to say, a new washer was now on the horizon, but... there was a holiday weekend coming up in a couple of weeks, and holiday weekends mean bargains, so I waited (and did a few loads of laundry at Connie's in the meantime). Since the dryer was the same age (15+ years old), I decided to put that on the list, as well. Labor Day weekend rolled around, we had a big birthday party for Susanna, and I ordered some new appliances from Sears. Good deals, delivery and installation included, a small fee to haul the old ones away. Of course, the delivery date was a little over a week away, so I did some more waiting, a few more loads of laundry at Connie's, and... TOMORROW IS THE DAY!

I'm pretty excited, not about having to spend a not-small amount of cash mind you, but the idea of a new washer and dryer is going to be amazing.

Love you all!!
